
Carrie-Anne Moss was born August 21, 1967 and is a Canadian actor. After early roles on television, she rose to the world stage for her performance as of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). Memento (2000) was her debut major role. She won the Independent Spirit Award, Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000). Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006). Snow Cake (2006) earned her the Genie Award, Best Performance by an Actress, Disturbia (2007). Unthinkable (2010). Silent Hill: Revelation (2012). Pompeii (2014). She also played Jeri Hogarth in several TV shows produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, including Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss was living in Spain at the time, was given the role of Tara Marshall who served as the clerk to the Judge Nicholas Marshall, in Dark Justice. This was her first TV appearance. She moved from Barcelona to Los Angeles with the series in 1992. Moss had to leave Dark Justice before the series the third and final season and was replaced by Elisa Heinsohn, who played Samantha "Sam" Collins. After her return, she enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. In Pasadena she worked as a model, and later, she starred on Fox's soap opera, primetime Models Inc. The show ended in July of 1995. series was put on hold. Matrix was a produced in Canada series that featured her as the lead actress, was cancelled in July 1995. In the course of the 1990s, she was a part of in several television series such as Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she scored a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest actor in Drama. Her film credits included numerous B movies including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
